How I became a millionaire in Tehran/ Kuidas minust Tehranis miljonär sai
16:22Tegime ühe pika nädalavahetuse Tehranis. Pikk nädalavahetus algas kolmapäeva õhtul ja lõppes pühapäeva hommikul. Kahjuks. Nimelt on 1€ umbes-täpselt 42 000 riaali. Me ei teadnud. Lõpuni välja ei teadnud. Mingid asjad on Euroopa hindadega, mingid asjad aga enneolematult odavad.
Most of the woman kind of wear it, but don't really cover their hair. Cause in reality most of them really don't care about wearing it.
In Tehran, there are two lifestyles for many people - public and private. In their homes, people do everything that is not allowed in public space. Thanks to couchsurfing we also saw this side.
And another reason why I have to go back to Iran is because i didn't try all the tasty and exciting foods! Although I ate something new everyday, I would still have so many things to discover!I hardly believe there are any Iranian restourants outside of Iran... At first glance it may seem that they only eat meat - šašlõkk, kebab, etc., but since I prefer not to eat meat, the things i tried were really intresting. My favorite was one cold soup with salty yogurt containing cucumber, walnuts, raisins and rose flowers. I imagine that princesses used to eat such foods in the old days.
We went to Tehran to experience the city and meet cool people. So we were not that active when it came to sightseeing. We did some sightseeing, you can check out the pictures below. But from the things we saw I would highlight the former building of the US Embassy. In recent years, more and more tourists have visited Tehran, who are interested in this building. One of the reasons is the anti-US graffiti on the walls - there was even one big banner that had a picture of Trump that stated both in English and in Persian: "Even the Americans are ashamed that they have this guy as their president." As a result, enterpreunial young people have opened a museum inside the building. This is small, but visitor will be provided a tour guide who will explain the events of the second half of the 20th century through their point of view . This was definitely one of my most fascinating things for me during this trip. The guide explained what actually happened before the hostage crisis and what actually made the students to take hostages in 1979.
In any case, I would like to visit Iran again and I think i left small piece of my heart in Tehran.. So I have to go back to get it back.
I personally think that the difference is what enriches us and, unfortunately, as a result of globalization, the world is becoming more and more alike... It is refreshing to experience unique cultural spaces that are further from the mainstream pop culture. Moreover, I would also like to say that people, wherever I have travelled, are just people. In the end everybody just want to live their lives and be happy. I know it is not actually an epic discovery, but you know the simple things are not always easy to see.
Until next time!
BTW maybe soon I will share a little video of the trip ;) Since my travel buddy might put one together.
